Right I am actually a housing association tenant, I don't usually share this fact on forums etc as I would hate for anyone to judge me, we are on no benefits and we pay our rent, water rates and council tax out of our own pocket. I am going to post an email that I have sent to the Housing Association out the abuse we have to endure day in day out from our neighbours, who do not pay a penny towards there accomodation. Have a read and voice your opinions.
I am not usually one to 'grass' but as their behaviour has now turned personal and I feel it is effecting my kids I have decided to put wheels in motion to get either them removed or us rehoused as soon as possible. I think people like this should be turfed out on the streets,
EMAIL
Dear Mr. Winton,
I am emailing to complain about my neighbours Mrs W and Mr G. As I advised in our meeting last summer, the behaviour from these neighbours is both offensive and abusive ans I am no longing willing to push it aside and ignore it.
Mrs. W's mother is now co-habiting with Mr. G (in No. 15) and her and her two younger daughters have moved into Mr G and Mrs W's flats.
Today whilst out in MY garden with my 2 young daughters, Mrs W's mother (now residing in No.15) has walked out of the property shouting at the top of her voice 'I don't want her sitting in front of our F*&King window, talking to you through the window, I'll go talk to her F*&King husband, see how she F*&King likes it' I am quite a broad shouldered woman and had my daughters not overheard it I would probably be prepared to take it on the chin. But I WILL NOT have this around my children, especially from someone I doubt has absolutely no right to be living here. This stemmed from a brief conversation I had with Mr. G earlier in the day, about the weather and the state of our lawn.
Mrs W and her boyfriend (who is also living with her) are constantly having screaming arguments under my daughters bedroom window, Miss L in the end flat by the entrance to the carpark (TOP FLAT) is now dating Mr G's son Nick and they are also arguing and abusive towards each other often in the middle of the night, to the point that my husband and I can lay in bed and listen to the argument word for word, and it quite often wakes my children up. The police were actually called a few weeks back by another neighbour at 2am, as the arguments had got that bad.
Mrs W's behaviour actually scares my eldest daughter to the point that I actually have to coax her into the garden to play, it is upsetting for both my husband and I that Annabelle fears playing in our garden, when on a whole she is a confident child. but when she hears an adult shouting at a child (Mrs W and her own daughter) 'shut up or I'll punch your light's out' to a 2 year old this would be teriffying. My daughter does not deserve to be put through this.
I complained about this last year and the last 10 months have been more of the same (if not worse) and nothing has been done.
My husband and I pay SOHA a rental every month to live in a place where we are slowly being forced to stay inside with our windows and doors firmly closed, to shield our children from the behaviour of our rude, abusive neighbours. To expect me to raise my children in this environment is not acceptable. I have recently placed ourselves on the transfer register, and after all the money and hard work with have put into our home it will be a shame to leave it but I cannot take anymore of the foul language and disgraceful behaviour from our neighbours. We are becoming prisoners in our own home.
I strongly suspect that both Mr G and Mrs W are both in breach of their tenancy agreements and committing some kind of benefit fraud, now I understand that housing is limited, but I am not going to put up with this, my husband and I work hard to keep a roof over our heads and to raise our children to be decent human beings, for the likes of our neighbours to drag us down and force us to keep our children inside the house all summer. But unless serious action is taken, I would like to discuss our wish to be transferred ASAP.
From now on I will be keeping you informed on a weekly basis of all incidents that affect myself and my family, until our wish for a transfer is assessed.
I will do everything in my power to protect my children and by continuing to live in Buckthorne Lane, I am failing to keep them safe, so I insit that this matter is taken very seriously.
I look forward to your prompt reply, and discussing the matter further.
Yours sincerely
Lucy Howard
