To be honest when my son used to hit I hit back, only a bit harder. everytime he would hit I did it just a bit harder and would hit the tops of both his hands. He got the picture and stopped. now we play all the time and he knows how to play without hurting. I don't like to spank but I don't want him growing up thinking it's ok. Sometimes you gotta give tough love.
