Yes Keep up with the time out ,But remember don't put him in a room where there is a TV or game system or any fun things.If He has a special toy like a game system or game boy he just loves take it away from him and explain why you are doing this to him.At this age repeating that hitting is bad is what you need to do because at this age they absorb alot of info in there brains.
