My friend has a 14 month old boy who is sick all the time. I thought it may have something to do with his diet. He has never been fed babyfood. He went straight from a bottle to eating whatever they were eating for dinner. He eats no vegetables, they always order him fried food, sweets, or get him fast food. I thought maybe this lack of good nutrients caused him to get sick so often. does everyone feed their child this or am I right to think he should be fed better food?

Yes poor diet can effect your immune system. Also them feeding him all this crappy food, is going to make him obese! And being an overweight child isn't anyfun! Besides the health problems from being an obese child, he will also get picked on @ school and probably have emotional problems... They need to start feeding him right! More veggies & fruit, less fried crap, & since he's 14 mo he really doesnt need baby food, but he should eat gerber graduates. They have all the right stuff in it for a healthy diet! Tell them that he needs to eat more healthy... I have a question though, r they fat (not tryin to be mean)...that just has a lot to do with what ppl eat & feed their children.

It doesn't matter that he did not eat baby food.....it was only invented a couple of generations ago! But you're correct that his current diet is probably causing some health problems. Fried food is terrible for anyone, and the lack of vegetables and fruits in his diet is probably impairing his immune system. Even if his family takes him to McDonald's, they have some healthy items on the menu, like Apple Dippers and the yogurt parfait.
