Nutrition classes, and counseling for you regarding the baby, nutrition, etc. You also get "checks" to provide you with nutritious foods like cheeses, milk, eggs, etc. Breast feeding moms also have tuna fish and carrots added to their checks. If you choose to supliment with formula, you can add formula to your checks as well.

You get vouchers for milk, cheese, eggs, select juice, and select cereal, usually like corn flakes, cheerios. If you tell them that you breast and bottle feed, they will give you vouchers for formula, and as the baby gets older you will get cereal and juice also. You can put the formula away so that you will have stock if you plan to stop breastfeeding, because as your baby gets older the vouchers won't provide enough formula.

They give you WIC checks that are good for a number of things for you and your children. I have been recieving WIC checks since I had my first child two and a half years ago.If your are pregnant or breastfeeding, the checks allow you to purchase peanut butter or beans, eggs, cheese, I believe tuna fish, milk, and maybe carrots. Im not sure because I didn't breastfeed, so I got formula. You also get food for your older chilren-- so, since I have a formula fed 8 month old and a 2.5 year old, every month I get checks for:9 12 oz cans of formulainfant rice cerealinfant juice2 dozen eggs2 lbs cheese4 gallons milkappx 2 boxes cereal4 cans juice1 jar peanut butter or 1 lb beansyou'll get two checks for each month; so one check will allow you to purchase 1 doz eggs, 2 gall milk, 2 cans juice, etc. There are some guidelines on what brands you can buy, WIC will tell you the details. They're very very helpful!

on top of what everyone else has been saying during summer months when the farmer markets start. they give you so many check i believe i got $60-80 worth. And it is so nice because they don't limit to what you really get. Just as long as they are local produce and only on fruits and vegetables at the markets. And you have until like October 1st.
