Default I want to start trying to conceive. Any recomendations?

My husband and I want to start ttc. I just stopped taking the pill. Is it true that I should pratice protected sex for two months before really trying? Is my body still under the influence of the pill? Could it be harmfull for the baby to get pregnant right away?

You have a greater chance of a miscarriage (blyted ovium) when coming off the effects of the harmones from takaing the pill. I would not avoid sex just don't try to time it for the first 3 months.

This is an old wives tale with no factual basis. You won't get pregnant until your body is ready anyway. Meantime - go for it!!!

Just start going for it! Tell your husband to avoid hot baths... it's a sure sperm killer!

The biggest reason why people waint until they're off the pill for a while is because it can take a while for your cycle to get back to normal. This means that it will be harder to pinpoint ovulation and therefore the due date. It's not harmful to the baby, don't worry. The best thing that you can do is just track thinks like cervical mucous and basal body temp (which is really easy once you get used to it). That way you get to know your body and you start to learn when it's a good time to have baby-making sex. But go ahead and make babies if you so choose! Just remember that there are only a few days per cycle that you are actually fertile so if it doesn't happen right away, don't be concerned. I'd check out the website I'm posting. It helped me a lot. I had no idea that there was so much more to baby-making than just having sex. Good luck!
