Default wedding food?

What types of foods are the best to serve at weddings. I don't want something too fancy or something lame. I'm think buffet but I'm not sure what kind of places I should call and how much I should except to spend. and what kinds of food should we have in the buffet or is it better to serve at the table sort of family type. I'm a big fan of mexican, italian, and oriental. But I like other foods too. should I do a mix or stick to one type? What's your suggestion? The wedding is next July probably around the 12th.
we haven't made up a guest list yet but my guess is that it will be around 100-150 people tops.

We're doing an Italian pasta bar. We're going to have two pasta chefs (small wedding, under 50 guests) and they will have a selection of precooked noodles (penne, spaghetti, etc), meats (chicken, sausage, etc) and a variety of veggies and sauces (Alfredo, marinara, pesto, etc). You'll make your selections and the chef will saute it all up for you right there, exactly how you want it. We are also going to have a couple of trays of lasagna and an Italian chicken. For sides we're going to have lots of good breads, a large Cesar salad and a fruit dish of some sort.

We are also having some sort of unique drink station, smoothies or Italian sodas, or something a long those lines.

I've seen some great ideas for a taco bar a long the same lines. Themeing your food can be a very special and fun touch to your wedding reception, something people will definitely remember.
