Default I don't want to do Atkins, but want to eat fewer carbs. How many should I have daily?

I want to reduce the number of carbs I eat, however, I do not want to do the Atkins diet. I simply want to reduce them enough to lose some weight. I don't mind it taking longer. How many carbs should I eat daily?
