I went on the Atkins program for about 2 months and had NO weight loss! I wasn't working out so that could have been an issue but I was under the impression that a low-carb diet did not have to be accompanied by a workout program to see results. Has anyone else had a similar experience?
I did eat the Atkins Advantage bars often...maybe that threw me off? I'm not a big meat eater so it was realllly hard for me to stomach all the meat... anyone have a better low-carb program that includes nuts and things the Atkins induction forbids? |

For the Atkins diet to work, you have to follow it precisely, especially in the initial stages. The 1st 2 weeks are crucial.
Things you may not even realize you are consuming could have a major effect on whether the diet will work. Coffee cream, caffiene, alcohol, breath mints, these are all things that will effect your results. You might want to try again, seriously hard core for two weeks and then see how you feel. |

Most people who have issues with Atkins did not read the book or follow it exactly. There is a "startup" time (the "induction phase), where you are allowed NO carbs of any kind...for 2 weeks or so. This is where most people mess up on the atkins diet.
However, you wouldn't be alone if you DID do everything right and had no results. http://www.atkinsexposed.org/ |

People tell me I'm on an Atkins diet. I really didn't realize it. So I looked it up. I am!! And I guess it works. I'm 5' 7" 110 lbs I've never been overweight but I happen to like meat and veggies and thats pretty much what I stick to. Particularly steak and veggies. I don't eat potatoes or bread. And that helps alot. I also don't eat sweets (although I do have a chocolate candy now and then) I really don't work out so it must work if you stay on the plan. Hope this helps
