How much did it hurt? Which position did you use and when did it hurt more than you were able to cope?

ive got 4 kids , with my 1st two i used gas and pethidinewith my 3rd they said it was too late for anything and i should just keep going natural, it was pretty painfulmy 4th i just used gasu really can get through it with no pain releif, ive tried a combination, they all hurt either wayhot showers during labour helped me mostand walking around like a complete mental case helps too, i hate the feeling of being tied to a bedthe part of labour that feels like its hard to cope is the last stage when its time to push, cos u gotta stay in one position, its so frustratinglabour hurts alot, but its over with b4 u know it, and when that bub comes out is the bestest feeling ever

I had four children and would have four more if I could afford them! The pain was not unbelievable and I would take it over a toothache or a broken bone pain ANY DAY! My first one, I was in labor for a long time and no sleep for 24 hrs, but managed to push out a big baby girl! My second one, labor was very fast, I transitioned in just a few contractions and had her before the midwife was ready. My third I had to be induced, that was nasty, but the worst was pushing him out, he was a monster! my last was the easiest and fastest, I was getting up on the birthing bed on my hands and knees and asked if I could stay in that position, I gave birth about ten minutes later.

I had both of my children naturally. Although every pregnancy and labor is different. With both of them I really never found a position that was comfortable. I do remember that doing the breathing techniques did help alot mainly with keeping your mind off of the pain. The part that hurts the most is closer to being fully dilated and by the time you get to that point for me the most comfortable part was when I got to start pushing mainly because you feel so much pressure it is a relief to start pushing. Now that was just me other mothers might have a different experience. Hope this helps and Good luck!!

tried with second, the epidural hurt more, I gave up, so it was natural anyway. all births hurt a lot but with each succeeding birth the duration of the labor and the pain becomes more minimal, no position will lessen the pain ~ mother of 3

When I had my son almost 2 years ago, I decided that there was no way i was getting and epideral. So they gave me laughing gas. It is the best thing EVER! It eases the pain for you and It helps you breath. I found that when I got a contraction I would hold my breath and that would make the pain 10 times worse..so with the laughing gas, as soon as the contraction came on I would take a lil breath of the gas and it would almost take the pain away. Now believe me, you will still feel some pain but it is not unbearable. And as for the positions, I was just switching back from lying on each side. That helps the baby get positioned better. Well thats what the nurses were telling me. Good Luck with your baby !!!

I did and to be truthful can not remember how much it hurt cause once I held my baby all pain disappered! My beautiful daughter did the same and she squatted for her last baby (1st girl 4th child) and she reckoned it was hard to start but the pain was a lot less than the others. But you can only do what you are able and if you need the help of drugs do it lassI gave birth & life to two wonderful children and yes it hurt but you get that in life sometimes
