YES! Absolutely we should get rid of it. The illegals are manipulating this loophole of a law to come here, have a baby, then bring the rest of their family here as an excuse. Unless both parents are already citizens, neither is their baby.

The United States and Mexico are the only major Western countries to have birthright citizenship. Most European countries have moved away from birthright citizenship in recent decades. Most people don't even know where this law came from, but the reason it exists is because the US had made the Louisiana Purchase, was intent on manifest destiny to the Pacific and had nobody to populate it. The US was a country that was begging for immigrants, didn't have a set system yet and this was an enticement to come here, have a baby, and then everyone stays and has even more babies to populate this vast area. There was so much land they even gave slaves 40 acres after Emancipation (many didn't get it though, the old white folk made sure of that!). BTW, it was affirmed by the 14th Amendment, not created by it.Pretty much this law is old and outdated because we have sufficient population, we no longer need incentive to come here, back then people came to work and have a life and didn't come to get welfare and public assistance, and the people that are coming here now, namely Mexicans, are coming just for the freebies. My ancestors didn't take a whip for 300 years just so these folk could come in and get it all for nothing.

It doesn't matter anymore they keep coming ..There is no control and no hope ,Taxpayers will continue to pay for english classes, foreign speaking teachers, businesses will hire bilingual employees, medicaid will pay for their medicine,and food stamps will pay for their food and they will smile and nod their heads because we are caring for them and they CAN'T SPEAK OUR LANGUAGE....Let them all in Americans are becoming the minority in america anyway HAVE A GREAT DAY...
