I would not wash ALL of your baby clothes until after the baby your baby is born. Even Dr.'s make mistakes, what if your little girl ends up a boy (or vice versa). Also, if you have a big baby, or one that grows quickly, he or she may not even fit into the tiny stuff. Or if your baby is little, some things may be out of season by the time he or she can wear them. In all of these cases you can take your clothes back if you need to - unless you have already washed them.

I wash everything before I put it on my son. Sometimes I wish I would just put him in the outfit first! (I had a couple shrink really nice) I use All free clear on all of our clothes.

I washed all of the washcloths, burp cloths, onesies, and just everyday outfits. The only things that I didn't wash were her church dresses and the fancier outfits. I just didn't want to have to iron all those clothes before she even had to wear them. Plus, I received so many outfits that she didn't even get to wear them all. It was a bonus to be able to return the ones she didn't wear and get the money for something she was using, like diapers and formula. If you do decide to not wash outfits, be sure to keep the tags on any of the ones them, just in case you do decide to return them.

I washed both of my kids' clothes in Dreft, for as long as the bottle lasted. I kinda wish I hadn't washed them all before the baby came though, because half the clothes they didn't even wear. I recommend just washing the clothes you know they'll wear at first.

I am 36 weeks and just finished washing everything. Babys skin can be very sensitive so you want to have everything washed to soften it. I use dreft for babies. It costs about 9$ for a jug at walmart.

I washed everything!!! I acctually washed everything again last night. I want them to be clean and smelling good when he gets to wear them. Make sure you use Dreft laundry detergent, it is for babys sensitive skin.

Hello
  1. Check clothing labels for special care instructions before washing.
  2. Separate clothing by color to avoid color fade and bleeding.
  3. Use the warmest water you can (following the clothes label instructions) to fill the machine.
  4. Add detergent to water.
  5. Add baby clothes, taking care not to overfill.
  6. Begin wash cycle.
  7. Soap residue can irritate some baby’s sensitive skin. Run an extra rinse cycle to ensure all soap has been removed.
  8. Hang to line dry or put in the dryer soon after wash is finished.

Hello
Most new parents have heard that baby clothes need to be washed before baby wears them. While it's unlikely that your baby would be seriously harmed by new, unwashed clothes, a minor skin irritation or allergy could make baby uncomfortable. Babies are sometimes sensitive to the sizing, a finish put on new clothes to keep them looking nice in the store. Shipping clothes can be a messy process, so those new clothes also could have come into contact with many types of dirt, bugs or rodents.
Baby Clothes Don't Require a Special Detergent:
There are a few extra-gentle laundry detergents on the market that are targeted toward baby clothes, but that doesn't mean you have to use one of these special soaps. Some families alleviate the risk of skin allergies by laundering baby clothes in a dye-free, scent-free detergent, such as All Free & Clear or Tide Free. If your baby isn't bothered by clothes washed in your family's regular detergent, there's no need to buy a special laundry soap just for the baby clothes.
