I took pretty much every class you can take on birth help, breathing (Lamaze), and parenting. But I am sure that there are things that happen during birth that nobody has told me about yet. What did you had to find out the hard way while giving birth. Please share

What works for one person doesn't necessarily work for everyone! I was specifically, dealing with a posterior baby... everyone told me that getting on my hands and knees would take away the pressure off my back a bit and make labor easier to deal with. Well, ... it didn't! That position hurt me much worse than any others did for me.

I wish somebody would have warned me about the immediately-after-birth shakes. That scared me a lot. I wish I would have known that afterpains are really painful and not just the tiny twinges the lady in the Lamaze class talked about.
