Default 24 hours of contractions--should I go to the hospital?

My contractions started about 24 hours ago, coming every 7 minutes or so. They increased in intensity and frequency this morning to about every 4-5 minutes, but were not bad enough that I thought I had to go the hospital yet. They have now tapered off quite a bit, but are still somewhat consistent. They are painful, but not unmanageably so. I feel like I have hit a wall, basically. Not progressing, but not going away, either. They are definitely NOT Braxton-Hicks. I am drinking plenty of water and I don't think they follow the guidelines for them. I lost part of my plug earlier today. I have taken three walks today to see if that would help. They usually intensify quite a bit, but then slow down again once the walk is over. Should I go to the hospital? It has been 24 hours since these contractions started, but I hate to go and be sent home, or just be stuck there. Anyone else ever been in this situation?

You shouldn't even be asking, you should already be at the hospital. Good luck.

You should be able to call the hospital or your ob and they will let you know whether to come in or not. Good Luck, and congratulations!
