My Little Hayfah was born on 07/04/07 and I had to have a ceasar cuz I wasnt dilating after 24hrs of contractions.
However my baby contracted meningitis 2 weeks later and 3 days after that she passed away. Yesterday I found out I am pregnant (period has been late for over a week, so decided to do a test and YES it was positive) - so I am weighing my options before speaking to adr. Please give me advice from personal experience. XXX 7th of April... In south africa the date is read 07/04 |

Congratulations on your pregnancy and I'm very sorry about Hayfah.
First talk to your doctor. Secondly I have learned that - Yes natural birth after having a Cesarean section is fine. VBAC's (vaginal birth after cesarean) are becoming very common now and can actually be safer than a repeat c-section if the c-section is not necessary. There's tons of research out there that you can study. Check out www.ican-online.org it's an organization dedicated to promoting VBAC and informing about the risks of unnecessary c-sections, as well as providing support for those who have had csections. All the best! |

I am so sorry to hear about Hayfah - what a beautiful name and wonderful birthdate (my firstborn was born on April 7).
Congratulations on your second pregnancy!!! A successful VBAC is dependant on a number of factors, including: the type of incision given, medication used during labor and birth, if a woman is allowed food and drink during labor, if she is allowed to be active (move around outside of bed) during labor, etc... I recommend going to a wonderful site that I have listed below. There is a wealth of information there and I hope for all to work out in your favor. Good luck in your research and I hope to see you back here in 9 months with a beautiful birth story to share! |
