Default Doctors Surgery Internet Facility

On visiting my doctors this evening, I discovered that they now offer an online facility to enable the patient to book appointments and request repeat prescriptions

I didn't know surgeries were using this system and am so pleased, no more going in to request a repeat prescription or awkward telephone conversations asking have you got this day / time etc.

Anyone elses surgery do this, is it a new thing ?

I'm made up as I need regular medication and they only give me a month at a time for some reason ? It'll save me loads of hassle of leaving it 'til the last minute like I usually do !

The registration process was so easy, my surgery gave me a printed letter with the practice id, access id and my NHS number, all i had to do was create a password and security answer.

I'm chuffed to bits, small things eh

wow i wish we had that at our surgery, sounds really cool.

I hate my docs receptionist, shes a right moany old cow  shes always miserable, she messed up my prescription last time and when i called about it, she had a right go at me down the phone, i told her that i was going to make a complaint and she said that if i had a complaint i'd have to talk to her about it first!!! so i said that I'd tell the Doctor instead and she said 'well you'd have to put that down in writing' and slammed the phone down!!!

I did complain to the doctor in writing, simply because she wound me up so much and it was her error that my prsecription was delayed!

Grrr!

my docs is so stupid that if you want an appointment you have to ring up on the day you want one at 8 am. its chaos, all the lines are blocked and sometimes all the appointments are all gone  i would love something like this for my docs.

Here is the link I was given from my surgery so you'll know what to ask for when you visit your own doctor.
