i remember back in my youth when i tried to get a perm out, i'd buy a home perming kit and insead of using all the lotion on rollers i'd comb it through my hair, pmsl, those were the dodgy hair days.

BUT hairdressers can professionally straighten it so it's probably something similar to what they use ?

i'd do a strand test first though, you never know suze, your straightening days might be over !

   i`ve done that too my mate has also ironed her hair before now. this is before the days of GHD this was when you could only really get the carmen straightener (with the crimping plate)

it would prob take a friend to help you do the back, so that`ll be a night in on the wine then.

Am thinking it cant be good for the hair though? If it stays straight after washing it would be a miracle!

Yeah I over do it with the GHDs as well but Im lucky to have thick hair so it doesnt really suffer from split ends. As long as you use heat protection you should be ok. Just had a quick read of that handbag thread and it says that it actually strips abit of the colour from hair. Also some girls mentioned they still had to use their straighteners but the straightening time was reduced.
