I'm in the 'still suffering' section. I have had depression in the past, and I'm suffering with PND now. I'm thinking I might be ready to come off the anti-d's but there's always the worry of what if I'm not ready.

I think it's been maybe 8 months as I didn't get any help til my daughter was around 9 months. I think I might be pushing myself to come off them. They make me feel all hot and I hate the idea of having to put up with that in the summer. Not sure if I still have the depression as such now tho, but I do get very nervous and jumpy at times, but I'll talk that over with my doctor when I see him within the next couple of weeks.

I suffered PND after my second one. The doctor thought it might have been delayed from when my father died 11 years previous.

What surprised me was the ignorant reaction from those around me. My MIL new I had it but never mentioned it, my colleagues at work (who were about 20 yrs older) knew but again never asked how was I doing. If I'd walked in with a broken leg, there would of been loads of concern. There was one colleague who mentioned once when she was feeling down, 'Im not on happy pills like you' Had I not been on the 'happy pills' I would of reacted quite aggressively to that.

I was on Seroxat and they helped me get back to 'normal', i decided to come off them after 9 months as I was feeling much better but the night sweats and altered vision were bothering me, i came off them slowly but soon went back down again, so I went back on them for about another 6 months then I was OK.

Dont come off them if you feel you are still going to have to fight it. I didn't have it but I think counselling is a great idea.

I'm now weaning off the anti-d's.
I still have 1 in the morning, but am also having just 1 at night.
Next week I'll not be having my night time one. I'm just hoping I manage to sleep ok, as I used to jump awake every 10 minutes before I went on the meds.
Then the week after that I can stop if I feel I am ok.
Would be nice not to sweat like a pig in the summer
