Default Serious mental health question?

Im a 22 yr old guy, i have episodes of "mania", and some real deep depression sometimes, i have racing thoughts, mostly at my job. I have unorganized thoughts, and child like thoughts that dont make any sense to me. I seem to think that im a special person, kinda like a celebrity, i think songs on the radio are talking about me or my life, then i get all wierd. I seen to be real hyper sometimes, and its like i dont have to much control about what comes out of my mouth, and anything seems to come out. Can someone tell me what i might have?I would greatly appreciate it to if someone can tell me if i might have mild retardation? would someone with mild retardation be able to type like this on the pc?Plz someone that has experince with the mentally handicapped, plz give me an answer, i appreciate it, thank you.I

The same thing happens to me sometimes. I'm tested as highly intelligent, yet I also often wonder if I may be mildly retarded. The doctors call it possible bipolar disorder. I call it, life. Maybe I'm a bit of a weirdo, but I do not feel that it's necessary to seek medical attention. You can choose to go the doctor route and find yourself choosing between the symptoms you described and the many side effects of the medications they'll put you on or you can try alternative therapies. There are plenty out there. You have to learn to be aware of what's going on inside you, emotionally, physically and mentally and then you have to learn to control it. eg. When I start to get depressed, I deprive myself of sleep for a day or two. It works. I don't know why, but I don't care either. Now, I have a friend who has schizoaffective disorder. She definitely needs medication. She doesn't have the personal insight required for alternative therapies. On medications, she's her old pre-onset self.

Sounds like schizo-affective disorder, I have it, you need medication, it'll help a lot.
