If you don't care about gaining it back,do it.Because that's exactly what will happen. It's best if you eat 1200-1300 calories a day of healthier food+ 30min of cardio and some toning along with that if you have time...this is HEALTHY,and you won't end up bingeing in the end.Plus,a month of this can lose you up 10 pounds or more depending on your current condition in terms of lifestyle and food.If you were underweight and gained weight suddenly you wanted to lose, that diet above would get you back down [though still be rediculously unhealthy] but if you're overweight, "crash diets" will only gain you back more.

Have a long time strategy.Often crash diets don't work as after you are done you will crave for eating stuff you shouldn't eat

Crash diets never worked for me. I am now using the fiber35 diet approach and that is so much better. Get the Brenda Watson book from Amazon. Well worth the little investment. No need to buy shakes.
