Default shitzu !!!

Has anyone owned a shitzu dog or know someone that has one?
Im keen to get a dog but I would like a small dog as Im not in a very big house and my mum seems to think that out of all the small dogs you can own this would be the best suited to my family (meaning small child)
Ella loves animals and I think it would be good for her and me too hopefully I will then get more excercise taking it out, I have a field behind my garden which is a bonus.

someone i know had one, and her aunt also had 4, i know they can be quite aggresive but that happens a lot with small dogs for some reason, same as chihuahua's, i think personally it can also depend on how it is raised but not always!!! as for the execise bit, i dont think you'll get much with one of them as they have such small legs so walk quite slow chopper why do you want a small dog, is it because ella is still young, because if you think about it, when you get a pup it will be growing with her anyway so doesnt need to stay small or is that just your preference?

Ive always had big dogs around me as Ive been growing up but The reason is because I have a very small home and dont think I could home a bigger dog, Im worried about having an aggresive breed because of Ella, I would never forgive myself if anything nasty happened.

I talked to my mum about this last night and I know all dogs bark but I dont want a dog that yaps all the time and again this is why she suggested a shitzu. Does that make sense??

pauls auntie has 2 shitzus and they are yappy small dogs :? also i think that some smaller dogs take up far more room than a bigger dog as they are more energetic in the house!! does that make sense?? little dogs run about a lot but kipper hardly moves in the house and alot of big dogs are like that they save their energy for when they go out! i cant really be unbiased about this as we have always had rotties and the only other dog we ever had was a terrier that we had to get rid of as he bit one of the kids

i think big dogs are also a lot gentler than little dogs as they cant leap about because of their size!! small dogs seem to run about and yap and snap!!! a lab is a lovely dog
