Default TALKTALK FREE BROADBAND OFFER

thinking of swapping my ISP to carphone warehouse. Currently paying £44 a month on phone & broadband, with talktalk its only £21 for both, inc call charges, also only getting half a GB speed, whereas this would be up to 8GB
just wondering really if anyone else has this & whether its too good to be true, because of huge interest they can't connect me till end of aug. do you think it could be slow because of so many users?

What was the offer they were doing?
free broadband for life was it?
I rang for my mum coz she is with them ,just the phone line, and it worked out about £10 dearer as you had to have a certain package

But i shouldnt think it would be any slower than any other ISP provider, they all have thousands and thousands of members dont they

I was in town last week and was waiting outside the phone shop for my wife to finish her shopping.

Getting bored i was reading the blurb about this in the shop window.

The very bottom of the T+C,s says:

Free broadband for life or until we decide to terminate this offer to our customers ;-)

I think its a marketing ploy to get loads of people to join, then they will change the contract.

It is going to cost them to run this and there shareholders will want a return.

Were they the company who used to be called Talk Talk ? what if they change there name again ? all old contracts canceled ?

oh bugger, knew it was too good to be true, you have to stay with them 18 mths, so theres nothing stopping them cancelling the contract, & us being stuck till the 18 mths are up, then again if the contracts cancelled, surely our 18mth obligation would be too?
Thanks guys for your input

Depends, if they pass the company over, the new company could cancel that offer but keep the obligatory 18 months contract?
