Lors, c'mon ! Our jobs don't dictate how we think, only how we act. Claire's entitled to her opinion and I'm sure it doesn't make any difference to how she behaves when she's in uniform.[/quote]

Again, you shoot me down for saying something. I was saying, that as a police officer, you cant really be voicing off opinions like that, then expecting people to think of you as a respectable figure in the community. People expect police officers to be non judgemental. When I applied for the police force, they stated that you CANNOT make comments in public about subjects such as this. You have to have no opinion. You represent the policeforce. Its ok to have an opinion on this matter to youre close family, but to make an announcement such as this on a very public forum is not a very sensible thing to to.

But its ok for english people to bugger of to other countries like america and australia and spain etc???? I feel maybe we are being a bit overrun but as they put it its a free world. In my town most of the people here are here because their life is so bad there. ive met met whove come to pay bak loans in russia or the mafia would shoot them. Ive met men who come and work themselves into the ground doing concrete for 4 euros an hour because theyve no choice. My man came here alone he was the first foreigner in this town he was treated like crap and worked his way up and earned his respect here. He never says no to anything they ask him to do his bosses love him because he nos how lucky he is. The bosses here are mad for them because most of them will work for pittances. So attack the bosses not the non nationals who come here not thru choice but thru necessity. Do u think its easy to be thousands of miles away from home having ur first baby ur parents first grandchild and they cant even get a frigging visiting visa to come see it. Like i say maybe theres too many now but theyre here for a reason and actually the government have stepped in. Ive polish mates who cant get child benefit cos theyve not been here two years. They cant get family working tax credits cos of that either. Thats someones son or daughter ur all talking about and maybe some day ur son or daughter will want to emigrate to get a better chance at life. Will u think like that then? I think not!

you've missed the point lizzie !!!

the thread is about iraq'e and kurdish free loaders who come here and take what they can because this goverment lets them.

I dont have a problem with people wanting to goto another country and WORK !!!!

Come to my home town and see these groups of MEN, they walk around in gangs and act like they own the place, in their designer clothes, and max powerd up cars. they dont want to work, they stay in bed all day and then hit the streets in the afternoons and congregate on the street corners taunting and harrassing the old and young. There is an area known as little iraq here.

Its a joke, its time these free loaders and benefit scammers went home. I forget who said it now but they highlighted a very important issue about asylum seekers, they are suppose to be granted asylum in the first country they enter.....not keep moving through untill you reach good old we the tax payer will give you everything you need Britain !!!!!!

Pi## off back to where you came from !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Claire's not representing the police force on here - had she not told us, we'd have no idea of what job she does. I think she has just as much right to express herself on this forum as the teachers, social workers, lawyers and so on.....No-one can be expected to live their life being totally non-judgemental. That's just not human nature. As long as it's not affecting how Claire does her job and how she treats the people she deals with, I don't see a problem with it.

I for one do not come on here in my work role (social worker) my professional beliefs are different to my personal beliefs.

I keep my personal and professional opinions separate and i for one do an excellent job on a daily basis and don't let my personal opinions get in the way with the protection and safeguarding of the children in my care!

Lors as you have made a point of saying more than once we are all entitled to our own opinion!! i for one had no idea what job claire does and it made no difference to me that she has an opinion on this subject, it wouldnt make me think any less of her as a police officer. Everyone im sure behaves totally differently when they are at work than they do in their private life. You seem to be voicing opinions rather frequently on what people should be allowed to think and do
