Whilst we are on the subject of CRB check's it's a good idea to ask your employers to police check you if they dont mention it:-

1. To protect yourself from any allegations
2. To protect the child

i have police checks and i also have a disclosure certificate which i needed before they would let me take any children out of the classroom when i was helping

Me too! They wouldnt let me start my job before my CRB certificate came through. CRB's have to be done every 3 years aswell as job / company change.

mine was done last year and i think it might have changed to every 5 yrs although i think when you get done for something like assault or something to do with kids or eldery i think that they should inform your employer as a matter of course as part of the conviction if you see what i mean

You have to have a police check to be an adviser with Citizens Advice now, and we don't really even work with children. That convicted paedophiles can work in schools is beyond belief !

I have the CRB certificate too from when i was doing nursing.

I get so mad when i hear of these disgusting, lowlife for nothing s****. i would burn them to death slowly so they would suffer bad bad pain - i cant beleive that the man on the peadolfile list has been working in schools - i mean come on does the system not know by now that they would be helping a great deal if they checked everyone before going near children its not that hard to do.

It sickening and so so mad how that poor little baby started her life in such a way - bless her! I,m surprised when the mother changed her nappy or washes her she didnt see any marks or brusing as i,m sure they would have been - eee how sad its terrifying

I have just been reading on the other side that a womans child or 6 years old has been abused by another boy of the same age :evil: She has said the shcool has done nothing about it apart from write it down in a book and that the other child has been given social workers and special support at his school. Her poor son has been totally ingnored and has been offered nothing to help him get over this.

I just cant believe it, If that was my child and another child did something like that to her then I would be looking for blood. Its just like what happened to lizzie's little one and it seems these KIDS keep getting away with it.

i know you have to be careful with children that age and am glad that the child that did it is getting support but its terrible her son isnt getting any help at all.
it makes you wonder what a 6 year old is seeing to be able to do the things that he has done because he wouldnt think of it off his own back, not at that age.

Exactly! All kids are innocent at birth and only know what they are taught or what they see.

Its horrible to think that there are probably hundreds more cases like this, just the media dont know about it.

If you knew of a child being abused, or at least thought they were but didn't know for sure - what would you do?
