Ela my mum stopped smoking a year ago last october and it had been 3 weeks before anyone noticed. Ive always nagged her to quit, for 20 years Ive nagged her and when she did I didnt notice.
But after about 6 months, she'd still stopped so I took her to the hairdressers, told her to get anything done at whatever cost and I paid! Now the money that she saves on not smoking she buys herself nice little treats every now and again. Hope your family will do the same for you  Well done for quitting - be proud of yourself!!!!

Did you notice on Life on MArs in the first one, everybody was smoking (because people did in the 70's) i was choking watching it, but the point im making (ill get there in a bit) is that when you stop smoking nobody notices because not many people smoke in public now, I hardly smoked in the street because people look at you like you on something a lot worse.

I only noticed that my mum had stopped because we were in town one day and walked straight into a shop, i thought it was so weird, as we used to have to wait until she'd finsihed her fag before we went in. Then it twigged!!!

I've started to feel like a leper now. Completely agree with a total ban in restaurants, but I think to ban it in pubs is a bit extreme. I don't mind too much as I go outside to smoke here at home anyway. A non smoking section in pubs would be a better idea.
