i found it really disturbing and thought like fg they werent actually feeding but doing it for comfort i was really squirming watching it,it felt to me like a kind of concentual child abuse the child had agreed too if you get what im saying. The mum was saying that it was completely natural and all mammals do it but i cant think of any mammal that brings up there young to independence but still breast feeds them can anyone else think of an animal that does this?lol

I missed the first program, but watched it the day after on more4.

Personally I wont be breastfeeding my children (plllease, please dont shout at me) But if I did BF then I know for a fact that I wouldn't do it in public. I think its a very personal and "close" thing for a mother and baby to do, why have all the public gawping at you while you do it? But thats just my opinion

I felt so sorry for the adopted chinese girl, she just wasnt interested in BF and the "mother" should have accepted it rather that trying to force it upon her.

I do think its a comfort thing and agree very strongly that when a child can ask for BF then its time to stop. 8 year old children should know that its not right to have it at that age and why would they want it anyway? whats the mother thinking? surely she must know that its not beneficial whatsoever?

Ask for the man having breast milk - why??????????

i found this programme so interesting! the world health organisation recommended BF til age 4, it said in the programme but i think this is more appropriate in developing countries rather than here in the uk. i hope to have children and hope i'll be able to breastfeed them, i'll stop before they are able to ask for it! i thought trying to make the little Chinese girl BF was wrong. the 8 year old was very immature and the husband was just weird. however the mum explained that BF can be carried on until the child loses their sucking reflex, which her child didn't lose til she was 8. i think the young mum from 'little angels' should keep up her good work! i don't see a problem with people doing it in public either.

no you can stimulate breast milk in different ways medication can do it and you can also do it by continuously using a breast pump

This child was obviously old enough to voice an opinion, so why would anyone want to push them at that age, they have got this far without it, like someone else has said stable home environment is more important.
