Default Extended Breastfeeding - C4 - anyone watch?

I have no problem with a breastfeeding mother feeding her BABY, or even a toddler, anywhere, anytime - I can't see what the fuss is about + why its so offensive - + I never BF either of mine.
However, I came away from the programme wondering who was
comforted more by the BF - I'm sorry but an 8 yr old?, I actually found that quite disgusting. I also felt uncomfortable about the woman who adopted + trying to force the child to BF within a couple of HOURS of
meeting, surely that child has other issues to be addressed without adding more?
Imagine an 8 yr old still sucking a dummy - how outrageous would that be? Can't help wondering also if these children will grow up to be 'needy', as they seemed to be actively encouraged to be more dependant
upon their mother - surely our role is to help our children become emotionally independant of us as they grow older?
IMOHO of course!!
I'm sure this topic will prob get quite heated + I apologise in advance if I have upset anyone

i breastfed bill til he was a year and ahalf [goodbye boobs ] and stopped when paul began to get uncomfortable by him being able to ask for it  i would have happily gone on longer but of course he didnt need it at all by that age! i also fed where ever i was ie having a coffee or whatever as you cant see what happening because i always used his blanket around him  but i think a child of 8 is asking to be bullied at school, the other kids at that age would find it odd! my bill is now 8 ! im sure it will cause insecurities in later life to be doing it at that age! by the way i didnt see the programme  i forgot

I'm not a mother so I appreciate that I'm not in any position to comment but I found the 8 year-old breastfeeding really gross. Say what you like but that is NOT natural. And the fact that the HUSBAND joins in too. That is just WEIRD !

Yes ! She said when she has a lot of milk, he "helps out". So she's got an 8-year old one one boob and her husband on the other. Yuk !

i missed it too.
its been said there is no benefit to a child over 2 years old to breast feed, it also states that after this age they cant get the milk because they cant suckle like a baby.
i think its totally wrong for an 8 year old to still be doing this, and for the fact that apparently she said 'i cant wait to get boobs so i can breast feed myself' is disgusting!!
i dont see anything wrong with mums breast feeding in public, like rae said its not as if you can see anything is it.

I watched some of it while surfing the net.

Those 2 kids were not feeding it was just either comfort for them like a blanket ect,or they new it made mummy happy ?

If you looked close the mums nipples whent at a 90 degree angle when they fed,it was not normal.

Did you see the bit with an older sister of about 5 or 6 that was very resentfull of her brother or sister who still fed.

I certainly got the impression from a couple of them that it was more about 'mummy' than the kids themselves. I also thought the 8 year-old was very immature in the way she spoke and acted - I wonder if this is because her mother treats her like a baby, in effect ?

I wasn't looking that closely at the nipples, FG ;-)
