I dont think having your tonsils out is a good enough reason to fork out for private care.
a cancer scare yes, my sister went private for a cancer scare, fortunately she didnt have it, my mum on the other hand went NHS when they thought she had cancer, turns out she did, couldnt have asked for better service from the NHS  |

At the time it was as the waiting list was so long and my work was suffering as i was getting tonsilitus every month. I think its up the individuals needs at the time and also circumstances.

Having your tonsils out i admit is a nasty job, apparently its worse the older you are when you have it done?
I didnt go in for mine out but they whipped them out coz they looked cancerous, my god its a painful thing to have done, in my opinion anyway  |

I've never had a problem with the NHS - always got stuff done when needed - I waited 4 months for my first carpal tunnel op and 15 weeks from my second.
we've fantastic service from the paediatric (sp?) dept at our hospital - whatever we want we get for Alastair - we only have to phone and we can speak to a registrar ot the consultant will phone us within 48 hours for any query, If he does get taken ill we call the registrar and we get admitted direct to the medical ward and don't have to bother with casualty. |

I was 21 ish, the pain was horrible but i am glad i got rid of them, i was on antibiotics all the time which gave me thrush and messed my pill up, if the waiting list hadnt been so long i would have gone with the NHS.
