would it be worth making a complaint to the police lucy? maybe keeping a book and logging in all the times you are woken or hear abusive language, then they could see that you arent just complaining about odd times?

I don't really think that it is a criminal matter 'YET' I have started a log today and we are taking photos to prove that they are all living there.

i think if they are abusive towards you then it is a criminal matter, why should you be afraid in your own home??

I have got it in the back of my mind that I will call them if things get too bad, hopefully the housing association will address the matter before it becomes that bad. I am going to call them when I get home from Work tomorrow afternoon to make sure my housing officer gets it.

i would make a point of telling the housing office that if snothing is done to help then you will be taking it further and informing the police that you arent being helped... tell them you will go to the local paper too to highlight the fact that nothing is done to help you  you dont have to do those things but it will let them know you are not going to let the matter drop

that really is totally unacceptable. you have every right to complain. i would also ring the social and let them know that they are prob committing benefit fraud.

let us know how you`re getting on

really hope you get it all sorted. i know how terrible it is having awful neighbours.

i am so sorry to hear about whats happening. i for one know how you feel i had this problem a few years ago and it was a nightmare it effected us all quite badly. we pay our full rent council tax ect.. but it does not make a difference to the housing where the money comes from as long as they get it.
in the end we involved the police and the person in question was bound over and given a restraining order. it took over two years even with the police and doctors mps law centre and the housing to get the matter to court.
in the end we moved at last and they moved us next to an alcoholic mother of six with a druggie dad. it was a very dark time for myself and my children and husband the music fights ect.. nightmare
i was so mad when i found out they moved us there after all we had been through . and that they were aware that the last six tennents had ended there tenancys because of it.
i then contacted a solicitor about it all i was amazed how fast they moved us
i think they thought we would solve the probem of bad tennents for them by going through it all again.
so my advice stay strong go to the police about the matter it took all the strenth and more that we had but looking back i am so glad we stood up for ourselves and made that stand .
i would not wish it on anybody but there is light at the end of the tunnel . take it from one that knows. keep on and on at the housing remind them that you are still there
good luck xx
