Its one of them you just do. I don't think you can make a mistake because once a baby smiles at you for the first time it is the most wonderful feeling and you just know that it is right.

I had Annabelle at 22 and Eryn at 24 and although I feel that this was a little too young, I think mid to late 30's is getting a little too old to be having children (I'm gonna get shot down now ) I was a child of an older mother and although it doesn't bother me now, it did when I was a child. I am the youngest of 3 so my mum did start having kids early there is just 10 years between the eldest and me. but as a child I was just embarrassed that my mum was in her 40's and all the other mum's were about 10 years younger, she never joined in with camps or trips or sports day, i don't know if that was because she was an older mum or not. We are planning on our 3rd and final in 2009 when I will be 29 and that is the oldest I am prepared to have a child. Plus when that baby is 16 I will still be younger enough to build a new life.

Hi Adele

only you and Lee will know when and if the time is right for you!

I didn't want kids at all - then I married my ex and I was 29 when I had Alastair and 5 days off my 38th birthday when I had Laura - I would have prefered to have a smaller gap but sometime's things like that can't be helped.

I don't think Laura will lose out becuase I'm over 40 before she's started pre-school - I do alot more than some other mum's of all ages.

but I do beleive older Mums do have to be young in outlook and actions..... I loved paddling in the sea the other week and we had fun building sandcastles!

you'll know when it's right

Rae - I'm sure your boys love you to bits and you can't be a bad mummy - you're full of useful advise!!!!

mummy's are the ones who have to say no, while daddy indulges, so we're made out to be cruella de ville!! Liams gone on a trip today, before he went he said 'mummy I'm gonna miss you'!! So I can't be all bad!!

My mum was 32 when she had me and she was in the middle some peoples parents were a few years younger and others a few years older

i really dont think age matter unless its like 50, 60 etc its peoples personal choice

I also think that women in their 30's seem a lot younger now than they did years ago iykwim, we dress younger, look after ourselves (pmsl), & generally have a younger outlook. my mum still dresses like she did in her 30's - antwacky & she's now 60!
