Default To treat or not to treat

If u had terminal cancer would u have treatment to prolong ur life or live ur remaining time with a good quality of life?

I think judging on my mum who is well at the mo, if chemo would weaken me to a point were i may not return to normalish then i might be against treatment.

i think it would depend on how much longer i'd be around with the treatment.....(and how old my kids were).

Wow Lizzie - that's a hard one!

I would fight as long as I could because I wouldn't want Laura to miss out on having a Mum - I miss mine terribly

But then theres the fact that if you do have the treatment to keep you longer, is there any guarantee that you wont be really ill with it, that you wont be reliant on your children, that your children may have to sit and watch you suffer for longer and that you wouldnt be a mum to them anyway and have to watch their faces as you......

yes I guess you're right as well Nita

I don't know what I'd do to be honest - I'll cross that bridge when I come to it - rather Alastair and Laura remembered the Mum who chases them round the house than obe who could only sit and watch!

Yes girls and the thing is that theres always a risk that the treatment could take u out quicker than wat ud live without it. I dont no wat id do, but looking at my mum now whos well strangely enuf, i dont really want to see her getting sick and bald and stuff with the chemo, but then thats me being selfish cos i no, even tho she doesnt no shes terminal, she would still take everything theyd give her to stay here a bit more. Suppose its one of those ones were u wouldnt no til u were in that situation. Please god none of us ever will have to be in it. Dont no if id be so brave
