Default Microchips in our wheelie bins?

What is everyones opinions on the microchips attached to our wheelie bins?

The microchips transmit information from the bin to a central database with the potential to keep a record of what rubbish each householder throws out. Even the garbage is no longer private.

me neither. If this is true, its totally ridiculous. We all pay enough council tax and for our bins to be emptied every 2 weeks is crazy. In France the rubbish gets collected everyday!

Oh so its about being green really then, using the wheelie bin when you could be re-cycling, well im not too bothered about that but i think first they need to concentrate on helping us re-cycle easier, we have our normal bin at the minute, then a garden waste bin, and a small tub for paper. There are a couple of the big recycling bins at the local shopping centre for bottle and cans...nothing for plastic as yet.
I do use all my bins, it isnt hard to seperate it as you throw it in my opinion..whereas my lazy neighbour  that gets a paper everyday and my old mags throws them straight into the wheelie bin

I think this is taking stuff a bit far - and did you hear about the charging by the weight - round here people will shove their heavy stuff in someone else's bin!!!!

I have 4 bins now and try to recycle all that I can but I still have plenty of stuff that can't go in the bins

4 bins Joanne! We only have one large and one very small one. We have a small box for bottles and a blue bag for paper and cardboard and thats it.
