Default how long can I leave cooked roast beef and chicken in the fridge before it goes bad?

I usually cook up a whole roast, and then use it for sandwiches over the course of a week. Is this bad?and i've never gotten sick from it

We have a 3 day rule for left overs at our house, if they aren't used up, we throw them out on day 3!

I'd say three to four days. A week might be pushing it, but if you don't ever get sick, maybe your doing something right. When you cook turkey for Thanksgiving, it is usually kept for sandwiches for about 4 days. Hope this helps!

if you had teenagers, that would never be a problem. the food would be gone in 24 hours.

If you cook a whole roast up, you can divide it & freeze it, this way it'll stay fresh longer, in the fridge it'll stay for a few days.

Two days from the day you cook it is about the longest you should eat it.Try buying the smallest one available or you can freeze half of it .Dont be afraid to freeze food. Most microwaves have a defrost on them and its really easy to thaw it out.

It is always hard to give a definite answer to a question like that since we don't know temperature, amount of time door remains open, amount of times and different types of contaminants that the food might come in contact with during it's stay. If you are worried, why don't you slice it the next day and put in sandwhich bags in 1 or 2 day portions and throw int the freezer. Then take out what you need for the next day at night after dinner and put in the bottom of the frig and voila-you don't have to worry and you could have some of both it you wanted during the week and don't have to worry about time limits.!

No longer than three days. Putting salt on it can make it last about a day or two longer. Try covering it with Saran Wrap.

When I worked in food service there was a three day rule. At home I use 4. Or it can depend. When you smell it and it still smells fresh or the way it is suppose to then it's fine.
