Hi Everybody,

Time is flying and suddenly it is the middle of June 2007. LoveDiscussions.com is still around and we are doing a lot of work on the backend. Anyway, it is time to talk about the upcoming forums contest. Contests are fun and they are even more fun if they come with cool prizes. We thought hard about what prizes might be of interest for everyone and with great pleasure we are able to offer a mix of gift certificates and a cool looking Apple iPod Shuffle. Yes, you heard that right. LoveDiscussions.com is giving away really cool prizes. We will be handing out prizes totaling $250.00 USD (or the equivalent in your local currency where you reside)

The Forums Contest Information

To enter the contest and to get your shot at winning a cool prize you will have to work really hard (not). There are 2 ways to enter the contest and to qualify for one of the prizes.

1) Refer new Members to the Forum that make at least 5 quality postings
How does this work? Every time a new member registers on the forums they can enter a referring user ID (yours as an example). Refer friends and family to the forum and make sure they use your forum’s user ID for the referral box. If they also complete 5 postings (quality postings – not just “Hi, how are you?” type of postings, you entered the contest. The more new members you refer to us, the better your chances to win a prize. A minimum of 10 new members need to be referred to qualify for a prize.

2) The member with the highest number of postings made during the time of the contest will win one of our great prizes. The top 3 members during that time qualify for a prize. There are only 2 (two) requirements: the postings need to be of good quality. Don’t post any garbage sentences. Write good postings with good content in any of our forum categories and life will be good. To qualify you will have to make at least 100 postings during the time of the contest.

What are the Contest Prizes?

Prizes are split between the two options for the contest. Each top winner will receive a brand new Apple iPod Shuffle 1 GB (approx. $75.00 Retail Value each). That means we will hand out 2 (two) Apple iPods. The 2 runner up winners in each category of the contest will win a $20.00 Amazon Gift Certificate each (or the equivalent in your local currency). This equals a total of 4 winners of the gift certificates. Last but not least we will enter all participants of the contest into a drawing for 1 $20.00 Amazon Gift Certificate (or the equivalent in your local currency).

Overview of Prizes

Contest Time Frame

The contest starts on June 20 of 2007 and ends on July 20 of 2007 (midnight).

Rules and Disclaimer
Each forum member that is interested in participating in the contest, needs to introduce himself/herself in our temporary contest forum before July20 and announce which option of the contest he/she is participating in, so that we can verify the contest related pieces. All new postings as part of the contest need to be of high quality. High quality means good content and not just some worthless junk postings without any real content. The forums administration will decide if needed if a posting is of good quality or not. A minimum of 100 postings need to be made to qualify for a prize (Contest Option #2). At the end the member with the highest number of postings made during the period of the contest can win the top prize accordingly. Newly referred members need to enter your user ID into the referral box during registration + they need to make at least 5 high quality postings. New members are allowed to join the contest if they are interested. The contest starts on June 20 of 2007 and ends on July 20 of 2007 (midnight). We reserve the right to modify the contest rules based on user feedback if it turns out that our initial rules are too complicated or do not cover the situation well. We also reserve the right to stop/terminate the contest for reasons out of our control. We do expect a certain level of participation. If participation is too low for whatever reason, we reserve the right to postpone the contest until a later time. If this contest is against local laws in the area of a contestant and we are made aware of this, the contestant cannot participate. Unfortunately we can verify all local laws and restrictions. We also reserve the right to terminate the contest or change the rules, if we are made aware of legal issues resulting from laws/regulations that apply to our business location. We have put in a fair effort to validate that the contest does not violate any laws, but cannot rule out that there is something else that would prohibit us from running this contest. Each winner is obligated to pay any kind of taxes in their home state/Country if anything applies to being the winner in a contest. Prizes CANNOT be paid out in Cash. Our apologies for this legal mambo jambo, but we think it is fair for everyone to point these issues out upfront.
