My daughter is 17 and she has a 29 yr. old BF whom she knew through myspace. I don't know why I really don't like this guy not because he's too old for her but I think there's something more than that. Maybe I find him not too responsible enough with his age. I'm so worried about my daughter but I don't want to hurt her feelings too. I've came up with an idea as recommended by this Background Check article that i've read to conduct a background check on him. In this way it will erase all my doubts about this person and if the result is negative I have a strong proof to convince my daughter not to go on with her relationship with him. Do you think I'm doing the right thing for my daughter?

Yes you are doing the right thing, Its natural of a mother to look after their children especially if its a girl. Your daughter is too young to enter in a relationship with a guy much older than her. If your daughter insist that she really love the guy, I think just support her feelings I know time will come she will realize that their is more than that guy can give to her. If I were you, talk to the guy very often so that you will know him better because we can't tell at first impression will last, cause sometimes it wont.
