Do you think using a 13 year old as a babysitter for my toddler is too young?

yea by a few years.

Depends on how long you're planning to be gone and how far away you're going. I would leave my child with a babysitter that young for a whole day, but if it's a few hours, then I'd think it's fine. Also, it depends on the 13 year old. I know a 12 yr old that I would trust with my children totally, and I know many teenagers that I would NOT trust with my children.

There are a FEW 13 year olds that might be mature enough to handle a toddler, but overall, I think they aren't.

It TOTALLY depends on the 13 year old and the toddler. I know toddlers that I wouldn't trust with anyone but an adult and I know 13 year olds who need to grow up A LOT before I'd let them sit my toddler.BUT-when my 4 year old was mroe tolddler aged, I'd have left her with a 13 year old if I knew the 13 year old personally and her family. why yes I know i dont want my kids being bady sitted by no 13 yr old. what if some thing happened to the child the 13 yr old might not know what to do.

Depends on how well you know the teenager and what her maturity level is. It also depends on how long you will be gone.

I started babysitting when I was 13 and had no problems. If you feel that the 13 year old is mature enough, then she will probably do OK.

I think that is probably too young, the person might not be mature enough or able to make a good judgment. I would choose an older person, maybe someone who already had children.

Yes thats too young! 13 yr olds dont tend to have much patience either, so if your toddler doesnt behave, you just never know how this 13 yr old will react. I would say that its better to find someone a little older, even if you trust this 13 yr old, you have to be careful because afterall, they will be taking care of your toddler. =]
