Default what were those little toddler's 80's dresses called?

they tied in the back but the back was open all the way down, the bottoms were usually bloomers. it was like putting on a apron how it was open in the back...i am trying to find one for my buddys daughter on ebay but i cannot find one!! please help me??

sounds like pinafores check my spelling though...my mom used to sew them for my girls and they were adorable

I think you are looking for infant sundresses. They come in different styles but most often I see them with bloomers, and have buttons in the back.

Pinafores I think .... type that in to your ebay search and see if that is the style you want. Pinafores are the only romper dress I can think of that tie in the back like an apron

They are definitely called pinafores but they date back much earlier than the eighties.My daughter had one she wore all the time and her preschool teachers remark how adorable it was.
