The answer from "Bored..." is good. The whole Disney experience (DW in particular) is oriented to kids. There are lots of things a toddler will enjoy, including having a "character" meal. The schedule you get at info kiosks also lists when & where "characters" will appear. We took our son to DW for his 5th birthday. He was entranced and STILL clearly remembers the trip (10 years later). We did stay at an on-site hotel and were therefore able to easily return to our hotel for naps & cleanup. We used the hotel's pool during the afternoons when it was really too hot for visiting the parks.A stroller is essential. The folding kind worked for us.
