it's a sad story but at the end of the day isn't the baby more important than "why should i look after some1 else's baby"
i'm sorry but that comment is just selfish

that baby didnt ask to be born, you should be doing all you can for it

you dont know what is going through the mothers head
i had postnatal depression after my son was born and if some1 had taken him away from me i would have let them. i'm still not 100% comfortable with him and he's not 8 1/2 months old

Hi missysunshine,

I dont think its Lors responsibilty to take care of someone else's baby. Im sure she does help out but at the end of the day the baby is not hers and she shouldnt feel obligated to provide for her. The mother should accept responsibility for her child and seek professional help if she is having trouble coping.

i agree with carina.

why should Lors have to look after someone elses baby.

i say if she was old enough to get pregnant then she is old enough to look after the baby, she needs to face her responsabilities

i also agree that it certainly isnt lors responsability and you dont know what you would be letting yourself in for!! will someone take the baby and then in a couple of years the girl change her mind again and the poor child wont know where she is!!

Like Rae said, if she decides in a few years that she wants the baby back can you imagine the emotionally turmoil for the child and Lors?

I'm totally with Rae, Claire and Carina on this. Of course the baby is important but Lors has a life of her own and wants a family of her own too. Why should she let this girl off the hook so easily ? As the girls have said, she could turn round and change her mind in a few weeks/months/years and that would have a HUGE effect on everyone concerned. Lors, this is NOT your responsibility and I think 110% you've made the right decision here, for what it's worth.

Oh my!!! I thought I was going to get attacked on this post after missysunshines comments!!

Thanks for your support girls. Im still a bit shocked that someone can give up their baby just like that. Obviously other people have their reasons, but she hasnt got any justifyable reasons, other than she wants to go out.

Ive told my fella that I'll consider going down to his parents in 2 weeks time, and if they mention anything (if I do go) about taking the baby then I will tell them blatently no. My fella's is on the phone to them at the minute, and Ive heard no raised voices yet!!!

Thanks
