Default Can you be pregnant and still have a period?

Hi all,

I probably know the answer but I've been having some really weird things happening since we've TTC this month.

About one week after TTC, I got this really strange metallic taste in my mouth (exactly as I got with Aaron) but to add to this, I have been sick, felt really light headed and forever going to the loo!

I was a day late too (which hasn't happened for months!) but started my period and all seems normal except that I still have 'aches' in my lower back and tummy, still got this strange metallic taste, feel absolutely shattered and really light-headed sometimes.

I stopped my periods immediately with Aaron. Is this normal? I really don't know whether I am just imaging things and don't want to do a test when I feel that I already know the answer but maybe just hoping.

I have had this nasty cold going round but can't explain why I'm ready for bed at 8pm...

Any advice would be great... thanks

BB xx

Hi i think if ur period is normal then ur prob not pregnant. I no girls whove had lighter than normal and been preg. Metalic tastes can stem from a cold or sinus. Im always getting that taste with my sinus. After a cold its normal enuf to be knackered. Ive a really light head at the mo too im on my period and ive a headache which theyre tellig me is menstrual migrand which can be acoompanied by vertigo. Ive also a sore throat so im going with a self diagnosis of virus wich is y im dizzy and wrecked. If ur not sure if u maybe r pregnant do a test anyway it wont hurt and will reassure u either way.

Its horrble ttc i think ur mind plays tricks on u sometyms i was pregnant every tym for the 3 months i was trying with ellie and the month i was i was sure i definately wasnt pregnant. Poor chez on boots was so sure last month she was too.

I hope this helps good luck and do do the test cos u never know u mite just be

Thanks for replying... I don't think that I am pregnant and as Lizzie says, probably my body playing tricks on me.

I even chucked away my alcoholic drink yesterday because it tasted funny! But think that this cold must be the answer...

Well hubby will be happy as it means we'll have to carry on trying!!

hiya

Ive had periods with my 2nd and 3rd pregnancies. Hence why I didnt know I was pregnant.

I know what you mean about ttc and thinking you got symptoms as last month that was me! I got a dry mouth and was certain I was having embedding pains, along with itchy nipples, I was so sure I was pregnant as my period was extremely late. I think if you want something so badly then you can almost convince your body and you have the symptoms.

Good luck it trying to concieve

Ive read grapefruit juice might help . . . . . along with the rest

Well, I did a test and it was negative. I wanted to put myself out of my misery.

We are hoping to go abroad next month so the thought of sunning myself on a beach is just what I need to concentrate on and not worry too much about babies! I need to get into that bikini first...
