well the evening went as well as can be expected. as soon as we met i gave her a massive hug and told her how sorry i was for everything that had happened.

when we got to the bar/grill we ordered drinks and she just came out with where it started, everything that had happened, it was devastating, there were a few teary eyed moments from both of us, I tried to hold back as i didn't want to make her feel any worse although when i got home i bawled my eyes out.

she has held the baby and had photographs and footprints taken and has his blanket at home which she sleeps with every night. they had him blessed and cremated.

I still feel terribly emotional today, why is the world so cruel

We were asking ourselves last night why you have all the smackheads and kids having babies who don't want them yet lovely, lovely people who can offer a child so much lose them.

I know you can't think like that I suppose, but it doesn't help matters

The good thing to come out of it all is that at least your friend knows she can concieve, a lot of women cant, or dont even know that they cant and keep aimlessly trying.

Sadly my friend had to have an emergency hysterectomy after the haemmorage (sp) so she won't be able to have another child. They have given her adoption information and she says she has looked at it but at the moment everything is still too raw so maybe in the next few years.

sorry to hear that

she might be able to consider surrogacy with her partner? though she'll obviously be a good mother no matter where the baby comes from

Hi Paula, well I am happy that the evening was not too akward for you as I know you were a bit nervous, it truely is awful what happened to your friend and I often wonder what nature is playing at, as you said people who should have been sterilised at birth have numerous children that they can't look after, and the ones that would make fantastic mothers suffer blows like this, where is the justice in that..... but I do agree with Lors, everything happens for a reason and it is out of our control...

Did she have to have a full hystorectomy or have they left her Ovaries in, at least if they did she can use her own eggs, if she considered using a womb doner, but as you said all too raw at the moment, things will work themselves out in time.

Take care, and try not to worry too much for her.
