In a statement released this weekend, Brad Pitt's spokesperson, Cindy Guagenti, revealed: "The night of May 27, 2006 in Namibia, Africa, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt welcomed their daughter Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt. No further information is being given." A doctor at the Welwitschia Clinic in Walvis Bay, where the child was reportedly born, told the Associated Press: "She is a healthy baby." Meanwhile, Sawkopmund municipality spokesman Freddi Kaukunga, told reporters that Shiloh Nouvel would be considered a Namibian citizen. "We are proud that such a world-famous actress like Angelina Jolie chose to give birth to her first child in our area. We wish mother and daughter good health and a continued further stay here." Following the weekend's events, it was announced that Brad and Angelina plan to donate $300,000 to two local, state-run, hospitals in the country of their daughter's birth, as well as $15,000 for a school and community centre in Swakopmund.
