Default Brushing Teeth

Matthew now has 8 massive teeth and need to get him to brush

How on earth do I get a 13 month old to brush his teeth?

He lets me do it a little bit but wont let me put any paste on his brush so I've only been using water.

Any suggestions ?

I let luke play with his toothbrush so that he got used to it and brought brushing his teeth into a game, after a few days he got used to it.
Best of luck to you

I let Laura mess with her tooth brush and do mine at same time - then I get her to open wide and give them another brush

make it fun and he'll be OK - Laura has to have a red toothbrush - bought her a blue one and she wouldn't use it

then I make a big show afterwards about a nice clean smile

anna likes to suck toothpaste off the brush, which i don't think is that good for her ? but what we do is sort of let her have a mess and put it under the tap etc then as joanne does, attempt to get her to open wide whilst we have a little go, doesn't always work but we'll get there i guess eventually

my 7 yr old Nicole hates toothpaste full stop doesnt matter what flavour i have to bribe her with treats to get her to brush her teeth although the dentist did say until they are 7 the least amount of toothpaste should be used as its bad for there milk teeth!

Tom would still never brush his teeth unless i tell him to
Its a pea sized blob they need isnt it?
I think some kids do like the battery ones though, or what about the ones that light up then stop when its time to stop brushing? You dont have to do it until the light stops to start with but its a start i suppose

We have one of the light one's it is good but the bristles go funny very quickly, and the novelty has pretty much worn thin after 2 months. I let Annabelle do her own whilst I brush mine, then I finish hers off for her with a good brush, she is pretty thorough though. Eryn on the other hand I just have to chase around the house and pin her down she is 14 months, but she WILL learn.
