i had my first daughter at 16yrs old. and now i am 19 and pregnant with my second daughter (36 weeks &4days). with my first one the doctors made the decision that i needed the epidural. now witht this one im not sure if i want it im trying to go natural just like i tryed with the first one. my mother was talking to me and asked me to go natural she told me i am too young to get a second epidural. any advice? is she right is it a little dangerous to have two epidurals at such a young age?

Personally, I would at least try for natural if you can at all. It's better for you and has benefits for baby, and the healing process. I never got the chance, as all of mine have been c-section. I had epidurals with 2 of my c-secs though, and if I could get around getting one, I sure wouldn't opt to have it. My back hasn't been the same since the first one 4 years ago.

heya well mother doesnt always know best i had a baby at 19 and had an epidural and if i ever get pregnant again id defo get another epidural.the pain is so bad and even when you get the epidural it only takes the edge of the pain well it did for me anyway.the epidural doesnt harm u or baby only if u move while ur getting it in as it could touch off your spinal chord.(so as u know keep v.still)..its not dangerous in regards to ur age so y go thru all d pain thats why they were invented.good luck with the baby!

I'm 20 years old, i have two sons and i had the epidural with both. although with both, the pain killers stopped working 15-20 minutes prior delivery so i had both naturally anyway. i have no back problems and i was able to enjoy my visitors while the doctors were waiting for me to dilate enough to push.to each his own. if you want to avoid most of the pain, then get the epidural.
