Default Barratts

The canterbury branch is a total joke. After the manager left, the customer service went right down hill. I bought a £2500 sony laptop in 2003 when I was at uni. It overheated and would shut down so I went back to Barratts. They didnt want to know even though it was under guarantee for 5 yrs! We also bought a sony tv which cost £3000. The picture started jumping so they collected it for repair. Idiotic repair guys dropped it and broke the panel! They then replaced with a panel from another tv set! The problem with the picture quality still hasnt been fixed and they still have our t.v. after 6 months!! We wrote to the head of the firm and he has not had the decency to reply back. He wont take calls from customers either. Appalling service.

yeah its the name of an electrical store in Canterbury. They are a total joke. Still havent received my t.v. which was sent for repair last June. Even though we have taken out the extended guarantee, they refuse to replace it. They even dropped the t.v. and smashed the outer covering! My dad is fed up with it all. He rang the insurance company but even they dont want to know. They say its Baratts problem. Thats customer service for you!

Send them a letter recorded delivery saying you reject the goods.

THEY have a right to inspect the goods in reasonable time (28 days)
YOU have a right to refuse repair.
Maybe Spliqn could help out on this ?

use this website, they complain for you and it puts the fear of god in them ;-)

Thanks for your advice FG and Claire. I will defintely go to the trading standards. I cant believe we paid over £300 for the extended guarantee for it just to be thrown back in our faces! They still have the t.v. after 6 months!!
