Default ebuyer beware !

my worst online buy to date has been with ebuyer

they are a large american company that are now in the uk

purchased a crossover cable, they sent me a network cable in the wrong bag,the bag stated "crossover cable.

they are 2 completly different things but both fit in the back of computer in the same port.

3 days later we called in a network company to fix it for us he said "why are you using the wrong lead"

I spoke to ebuyer on the phone I told them it had cost me 3 days and a network company call out as they had put the wrong component in the bag.

the said the most they could do was send me the right cable and refund my postage "wow" !

the network guys did not charge us for call out or the cable they gave us.

I have heard alot of negative stories about ebuyer, all along similar lines where as the wrong item is sent or not sent on time.
I have only dealt with them twice, and i must say I had no problems. My last purchase was within the last 7 days and delivered 3 day earlier than expected.
May be they have realised that they need to buck their ideas up.
Would be good to hear if anyone has had any recent difficulty with them, or if they have sorted themselves out.

I have used them before........ i ordered a memory card for my n-gage!
It was half the price of any similar products i had seen.
I had no problems with them. It came on time , was the right product and worked fine.
I do remember reading an article about them in a computer mag......they said basically they are a good company but due to their success they are suffering. :?
Customer service was their main problem which they said they would be sorting out.

fair play to them.maybe I purchased at the wrong time then

dont you think companies should sort out there problems rather than carry on taking orders ?

staples.co.uk is another example, but thats another post in its own right

I use eBuyer regularly with no problems. What does annoy me is that they don't have a contact telephone number for customer services anymore.

I use BigPockets too, they're pretty good but not always the best prices with much less stock.

Default ebuyer

I have used this company many times in the past 18 months and not had any problems.
Also, their prices are the lowest that I have found anywhere, I would recommend them to anyone.

i have never used them, but i have also heard that the problems are due to their success- expanding too quickly.
